If you wish to point a domain that you have to another domain or subdomain, a good way to do this would be to use a CNAME record. By setting up such a record, the domain address being redirected loses all its records (A, MX, and so on) and instead, it takes the A record of the Internet domain it's forwarded to. This way, if you use a web design service by some provider that gives you a subdomain, you can use an actual domain and not only will it be directed to the Internet site that you have created, but it will also appear in the browser address bar at all times. Some other possible uses of a CNAME record are to redirect all of the traffic from various subdomains to their main domain, or to use the webmail service of your hosting provider by using webmail.your-doman.com, for example. The latter will work only by creating a CNAME record for a subdomain since this kind of a record set up for the main domain address makes it impossible to use email addresses.

The Hepsia hosting CP, which we offer with each and every Linux shared hosting, allows you to create CNAME records for every domain or subdomain hosted within the account with just a few clicks. If you're not certain how to go about it, you can check out the video tutorial available in the CP, read the in depth Help article on the subject, or just simply contact us and we can help you 24/7, although it is not likely that you'll experience any issues as all it takes to set up a new CNAME record is to select a domain/subdomain, input the hostname you're forwarding to, and save the change.
